Biology May 9-13, 2016

This week in Biology we will learn about the circulatory system:  heart, blood, blood vessels, capillaries, veins, arteries.  We will dissect a pig heart to observe the four chambers and the pumping mechanism.  Although it is larger than the human heart, the parts are the same.

History
Monday - Story of the World: War of the Roses reading, have the students retell the reading verbally
Tuesday - Story of the World: Princes in the Tower, while one group films the other group will create family banners for the Lancastrians and the Yorks. 
Wednesday - While the other group films, the group from yesterday will create their banners
Thursday & Friday - Students will follow instructions and map out time during the War of the Roses and create a pop out castle. 

Literature
Monday - we will put the finishing touches on our scripts and prepare for filming our broadcast for the rest of the week

Bible
Tuesday - The Transfiguration, reading card and worksheet
Wednesday - Read Matt. 17:1-9 and translate key words from this lesson using the Key code on the worksheet. 
Thursday -Triumphal Entry, reading card and worksheet

Latin 
Monday - Chapter 17 introduction and video, complete the activity page for this chapter
Friday -  Check our work on the activity page and go over any mistakes that were made.

Biology May 2 - 6, 2016

We have So Much still to cover in a very short time - where has the time gone??  So, get ready to buckle down and work hard with me!  We are learning about the human body.

May 2 - 6:  We will learn about the skeletal system, muscular system, respiratory system
May 9 - 13:  We will learn about the circulatory system (heart dissection), digestive system and excretory system
May 16 - 20:  We will learn about the nervous system (brain dissection), endocrine system
May 23 - 25:  We will learn about the reproductive system

Monday - Map Work, following the instructions you will be creating a map for England after the Norman conquest,King Richard and the Crusades, and  Europe and the spread of the Plague
Tuesday - Read Henry V and the Battle of Agincourt from Story of the World and complete the questions.

Thursday - Play the game Bowl for the Crown
Friday - Read Joan of Arc from Story of the World and complete the questions.

Literature 
Monday -  Write our opening for the Hobbit News Cast and Jingle for your station, station name and Names of newscasters
Tuesday- Split class in two teams, write top stories about encountering Gollum and Smaug
Wednesday -Chapel
Thursday -Split Class into two teams, finish work on top stories, creating pictures to show the audience and interview with characters from these two stories
Friday - Work on secondary stories
